Memorialization & Data Deletion

A Meno account can hold years of prayers, griefs, and gratitude: a quiet spiritual record of a life. This page covers two tender subjects: what happens to that record when its owner passes away, and how deletion works for the living.
Deleting your own data
You can delete individual life updates and dates anytime, or delete your entire account from your account page. Account deletion removes your profile, life updates, prayers, and devotional history, fully and promptly. We keep only what the law requires (for example, billing records), and active subscriptions are cancelled so you are not billed again.
When a loved one passes away
Write to us at hello@thedailymeno.com. A family member, or the executor of the estate, may request either of the following. We will ask for reasonable documentation (such as a death certificate and proof of your relationship or authority) to protect the account owner:
- Deletion: we close the account and delete its contents, as if the owner had done so themselves.
- A written keepsake: where we can verify the requester’s authority, we can provide an export of the account’s devotional history. We treat the contents of prayers and life updates as confidences of the person who wrote them; where we cannot verify authority to receive them, we will decline, gently.
We do not keep accounts active indefinitely after a verified death, and we never continue billing a deceased person’s subscription. Tell us, and we refund any charge made after their passing.
